Russki Farm
We call it living.
When we decided to buy a house we wanted to get away from rentals, deposits, security checks and constant neighbors. We never thought that owning would be much more than that.
Of course, being able to pay mortgage is a huge responsibility but it comes with amazing perks.
We are in our thirties and thought that all "the firsts" were left in twenties until we got a house. Every day brings a new first experience: a first garden, a first pet, a first farmed animal, a first boiler leak
We learn to build, we learn to design and decorate, we learn life and death and how to cope with all that life brings to us.
Mostly important, our children learn with us. They are not avid homesteaders but through living on a hobby farm, they still build stamina and flexibility when making life choices. To our mind, this is the best parenting we could give them.
